As a product of international educators, I was fortunate enough to grow up overseas. Education took various forms throughout my youth, but it was always at the forefront of my experiences. I was enlightened through travels, exposure to art, and different cultures and people. These experiences have shaped who I am today. I thrive in diversity and I have an appreciation for our beautiful world.
My photography began at an early age. I can remember being allowed only so many rolls of film each summer to document our family adventures. Needless to say, I have boxes of not so great photos. As time went on, I learned how to use a “real” camera, be purposeful in my shooting, and experimented with techniques of developing my own images. As I became a mother and an educator, I was not as active with photography. However, I always maintained an awareness and found contentment through various forms of art.
Several years ago, I picked up my camera again. Even though the photography world has changed, I have been able to adapt to the new trends and styles that clients admire. As with any art form, my photography continues to evolve. Photography is the medium I choose to portray my surroundings. From behind the lens of my camera, I look for the image within the image. I strive to capture the extraordinary in ordinary everyday things. I enjoy catching candid moments and emotions as well as getting up close and personal with nature and people. My photography aims to tell a story. The perfect picture can take hundreds of shots, but it is gratifying once the envisioned image is achieved. Please enjoy some of my favorite images and the whimsy and wonder of our world.
